Meet Agnes Knowles
Creator of Boom With a Bang!
and Host of The Boomer Woman’s Podcast
Welcome—if you’re here, you’re probably thinking about your next chapter.
And that’s a very good place to be.
More women than ever are living longer, healthier lives, which means retirement isn’t an ending—it’s a wide-open middle. The challenge (and the opportunity) is figuring out how to design the next 20, 30, or even 40 years with intention, meaning, and joy.
Boom With a Bang! is a community and creative hub for women—especially Boomer women—who are navigating retirement, reinvention, creativity, and life beyond traditional expectations. I’m Agnes Knowles, host of The Boomer Woman’s Podcast, and my work centers on helping women step into what I call Renewment: a time to reassess, reimagine, and actively create what comes next.
Like many women in midlife and beyond, my path hasn’t been linear. I’ve married and divorced, raised three children, built businesses, had a solid career, and then walked away from that career and my home to care for a parent with dementia. I’ve experienced financial stress, family transitions, and the reality of starting again after circumstances changed—sometimes abruptly.
Those experiences shaped the work I do now.
I don’t believe retirement is about fading quietly into the background. I believe it’s a stage where wisdom, experience, and voice matter more than ever. While I may not be the one to change the world, I can help model what it looks like for women to remain curious, visible, and engaged—so the generations behind us can see what’s possible.
Through essays, resources, and conversations with thoughtful, accomplished guests, Boom With a Bang! explores topics many women are thinking about but don’t always hear discussed openly: redefining success, financial realities, creativity, health, relationships, purpose, and the freedom to choose differently.
If you’re asking questions like “What now?”, “What still matters to me?”, or “How do I design a life that actually fits?”—you’re in the right place.
I invite you to browse the site, explore the resources, and listen to The Boomer Woman’s Podcast. And if there’s a topic you’d like covered—or a story you feel called to share—I’d love to hear from you.
This next chapter isn’t an afterthought.
It’s a design project.
