Kim Peek on Plot Twists, Reinvention & Learning to Say YES to Yourself
What do you do when life suddenly changes direction?
Kim Peek joins Agnes for a thoughtful and surprisingly funny conversation about divorce after 30 years of marriage, becoming an empty nester, surviving breast cancer, rebuilding confidence after a toxic relationship, and creating what she now calls “The YES Life.”
Together, they explore the small choices that slowly help women reconnect with themselves after seasons of caregiving, burnout, loss, or simply feeling stuck.
- Why Kim reframes life’s hardest moments as “plot twists”
- The emotional impact of an empty nest after decades of motherhood
- What a toxic relationship taught her about self-worth and aging
- The “micro yeses” that helped her reclaim joy
- How movement and adventure became part of her healing
- The Six Ps of the YES Life
- Why women need white space, boundaries, and permission to choose themselves
- Learning to notice what drains energy — and what restores it
This conversation is a reminder that reinvention rarely arrives all at once. More often, it begins quietly — with a walk, a boundary, a friendship, a sunrise, or one small decision to say yes to yourself.

About the guest: Kim Peek
An avid runner, triathlete, cyclist, and endurance kayaker, Kim uses the outdoors as both a classroom and a catalyst for growth. Whether she’s running long miles, cycling across states, or paddling hundreds of miles downriver, she’s less interested in proving toughness and more interested in what movement teaches us about resilience, energy, and trusting ourselves in the unknown.
In 2023, Kim took on the MR340, the world’s longest nonstop river race, as a complete kayaking newbie. That year’s race—widely regarded as the toughest in the event’s history—was called early due to dangerous conditions. Kim and her team endured brutal weather and completed 172 miles before the race was stopped. In 2024, she returned and completed the full 340-mile journey, a powerful reminder that growth often comes through persistence, not perfection.
A content marketing agency owner, podcast host, breast cancer survivor, dog mom, and empty nester, Kim brings both lived experience and practical wisdom to her work. She hosts three podcasts—Postcards from the YES Life, The Digital Dreamer Podcast, and Paddle Sports Lifestyle—where she explores energy, reinvention, storytelling, and bold, intentional living.
Kim’s work invites people—especially those in midlife and transition seasons—to stop living on autopilot, follow their energy, and say YES to lives filled with movement, meaning, and momentum.
