Laura V. Dow has worked with older adults for more than twenty years, providing fitness training and yoga instruction in both commercial health clubs and retirement communities.
She is the founder of Stiff To Fit, a business she created to specifically address ways to stay active as we age. Laura is an award-winning author of “Mind Your Movement: Six Essential Physical & Mental Tools To Stay Active As We Age” and has been featured on a number of national and international podcasts, appeared on live TV and presented author talks at local and regional libraries in Virginia.
Laura is a pro-aging advocate and co-authored an article on ageism in fitness published by the American Society on Aging in May 2025.
Outside of her private training clients and professional writing, Laura enjoys exercising, reading, watching K-dramas, travel, learning Japanese and drinking a great cup of green tea. She lives in northern Virginia.
