Where do I begin to discuss cat-sit 3? You see, they asked for anonymity in my journal and I must respect that. But I have a few theories I’m willing to share.
Let me start at the beginning. I live in Victoria and I’ve always maintained that “Six Degrees of Separation” in Victoria is actually only two.
Before we’d even agreed to meet we had identified two commonalities. When I went for my pre-meet, we found three more. Obviously this connection was meant to be.
So let me share my theory with you but please don’t spread it around. I’m fairly confident I’m right and I don’t want to blow their cover.
Cat-sit 3 was for two cats. The mum and dad were seriously good-looking, talented, and humble, living in a lovely older home that had been up-dated to a very high standard. See where I’m going with this? I think James Bond has met his true Bond-girl – although I much prefer Bond-woman – they’ve left the Secret Service and are living a quiet life in sleepy Victoria. Don’t laugh and please don’t roll your eyes. There’s another clue. Perhaps I should say there are several clues… that Q has been through the place.
Cat 3A is also food-motivated, although not nearly so fanatically as Miss R at Cat-sit 2. She is on a bit of a diet so has a very specialized feeder that I loaded each morning with a very precise amount of kibble. There was a circular tray that turned to present 3A with her food at very specific times of day. Genius.
Cat 3B was not at all food-motivated and nibbled when she felt like it. This meant, of course, that her food could be open-season for her room-mate. 3B has very specialized food for health reasons so it was important that they get only their own food. 3B had her own very specialized feeder: a bowl with a plexi-cover that opens only when 3B’s chip is in close proximity. Always 3B’s, never 3A’s!
And then, as a bit of a pièce de résistance, Q has added a beautiful aerated and filtered water system.
